Thursday, February 28th, 2008

Here is a neat web blog that I thought had lots of
humor. About half way down the page are some really
dumb things that people actually made. If you need a
laugh for today, just check this out.

What Is SPA*M?

What is SPA*M?
The way I understand spam is - unrequested
information sent to you-.

Every Wednesday the mailman delivers spam to
my mail box. When I open my mail box, there are
multiple pieces of mail offering me discounts on
various products. Most of the mail is addressed to
resident, which isn’t my name.

You want information on dog training and find a great
site. You fill in your name and email address for the
weekly newsletter. A few days later you change your
mind. The newsletter sent to you is not spam. You
requested the information and now don’t want it.

Be careful to read what and how your name and email
address will be used. Some time you are signing up to
be on a list to be sold to others.
Read all the information given.

Most internet marketers have links toward the end of
the newsletters to remove your name from their list.
Click the link and your name is removed. Some will
send an email before deleting your name, just in
case you change your mind again. Others require
you to send an email.

There is usually a link for the email. So act like a
responsible person and remove yourself from the list.

Of course you will find some people who are out to
scam you. Then you need to report the spam.

Please comment on this subject or tell
you experiences.

Search Engine Content

Friday, February 15th, 2008

Now you understand what a Search Engine does,
how do you entice them to visit your web site?

That easy! gave them what they want - good content.
You know what good content is and so do I, but how
does a search engine judge good content?

First your information has to be relevant to your web
site. If you are claiming a site on hair COLOR and all
your product are COLOR nail polish, the information is
not relevant. You need to change the name to nail
polish or get products that are related to hair color.
The domain name of your site should tell about the
information on the site to be relevant.

A domain name is the phrase or name given to your
web site, the same as a store name. Make the
name easy to remember and tell something about
the subject of your web site.

Another thing to remember is that the search engines
will lead people to your web site. Be sure that the
information is interesting to humans. Use the type of
information that would be of interest to your
audience. Don’t write about the newest teen hair color
if your audience is the young working girl.

Have you gone to a web site looking for something only
to find the information was totally different than what
you wanted? Don’t make your web site a total
disappointment to your visitors.
